Window of Opportunity. From the “Leaders’ Summit on Climate” to Glasgow 2021.

After rejoining the Paris Agreement in January 2021, the new U.S. administration invited 40 world leaders to a global climate summit on Earth Day, April 22nd. Underscoring the urgency – and the economic benefits – of stronger climate action, this “Leaders’ Summit on Climate” aims at nothing less than restoring the Earth. But are the United States, together with Europe, ready to take on the much-needed global climate leadership? What can we expect to happen in the run-up to the 26th UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow later this fall? Will we really see accelerated global action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement?

We discussed these questions with Margie Alt and Nick Evans. Moderated by Geoff Dembicki. Introduction by Jennifer Morgan, Executive Director of Greenpeace International.
